This era was filled with radical and revolutionary events. The Civil Rights of African Americans were being fought for. The Vietnam War broke out and there was a lot of angst toward the U.S. govt. for their involvement. Rebellions were occuring all around the world. Many African nations were gaining independence from their European colonial oppressors. The Black Panther Party was very prominent during this time and a fixture in the

African American community. A counterculture questioning capitalism developed questioning democracy & liberalism. Anti-war sentiment, Hispanic and Chicano Movement. The second Wave of Feminism as well as Gay Rights.
