Review

Pictures

This book is a very good easy read. In this book the Curtis family keeps going forward and never looks back after their community and house was destroyed during Katrina. One of the details I enjoyed was when they were at the Super Dome. While many people think it was a place of refuge but the author described it as a scary place filled with hopeless tired people. The author did a great job of portraying the actual sadness and devastation of Hurricane Katrina. I would not recommend this book to 4th grade and under as there were several graphic scenes. I did not think it was necessary that several of Armani's family members died given the targeted audience age. Despite this fact, I like this story especially because of its ending. The end shows hope and the desire to keep going because things will get better. I would recommend this book to a friend my age, or older and rate this fictional novel 3 1/2 stars out of 5.
