RESUMES
THAT
ROCK!

What do you bring to the position; the team; the organization? I should be able
to picture it!

Don’t just list what you did, list HOW you did it and the positive result

Why was the team or work different because you were there?

Provide tangible examples and evidence (#, $, increase, decrease, special recognition, etc)
Value Based… Not experienced based
WRITTEN
IMPACT
SHOW UNIQUENESS
TARGETED
An answer to a question
Read and respond directly to the job ad
One resume= One job
Be the candidate who wants THIS job rather than A job
Determine what the employer wants and give it to them
(language, culture, etc)
TARGETED

Often people who read resumes are bored, overwhelmed, rushed, disgruntled, busy, distracted…..
How does YOUR resume change that
DEATH BY RESUME
HELP!

Love it!
PROFILES ARE IN
“I don’t change, why does my resume? “
Every resume should be two pages..no more, no less.
Resume True or False
Your resume should be a collection of both your skills and personality
You should have one resume that sums up all your experience
Employers will read between the lines to see that you're qualified for the job
Some interesting formats...
