Summary
Gilgamesh is a cruel and tough king to the city of Uruk. People of Uruk pray for Gods to help them have peace from Gilgamesh's acts. Goddess Aruru to creates Gilgamesh's equal "Enkidu" who lives in the wild. A Trapper sees Enkidu and with the help of a prostitute from Ishtar's temple, thy succeed to make Enkidu leave the wildness life and go to the city. Gilgamesh had dreams of Enkidu's arrival to the city and when he comes they get in a fight and Gilgamesh proves his power over Enkidu. They become best friends. Gilgamesh decides to go to the forests and kill Humbaba to gain fame, both go and return to celebrate their victory. Ishtar asks Gilgamesh to marry her but he refuses. For this Ishtar release the Bull of Heaven to punish Gilgamesh. He and Enkidu kills it bravely. The Gods decide one of the heroes should die for this behavior and Enlil chose Enkidu. After 12 days of illness Enkidu dies. Gilgamesh falls in grief and he gets scared of death so he decides to look for Utanapishtim to find a way for immortality. Gilgamesh travels to Mont Mashu and into the other world. After meeting Utanapishtim, Gilgamesh returns back to Uruk valuing more his city and accepting his destiny and place in this world.
