Role taking theory is important when assessing what kind of responses to expect from students. Students' developmental stages will differ in how they will be able to analyze situations.

Levels of Role Taking Theory

Level 0: Egocentric Role Taking (3-6)

Level 1: Subjective Role Taking (6-8)

Level 2:Self-Reflective Role Taking (8-10)

Level 3: Mutual Role Taking (10-12)

Level 4: Societal Role Taking (12-15+)
