Phylogenetic Chart: Zebras Evolution

Mountain Donkey (Equus Zebra)

Wild Donkey(Equus Asinus)

Grévy's zebra (Equus Grevyi)

Half Donkey (Equus Hemonius)

* A wild member of the horse family

* About 570 individuals exist in the wild

* They are gray but they have variable transverse stripes on their legs.

* Stripes can be either black or dark brown and white

* Stripes cover their whole bodies except for their bellies

*Main threats to the species are from loss of habitat to agriculture, competition with domestic livestock, and hunting

Couldn't find anything on half donkey's but here is a picture!

Burchell’s Zebra [Equus burchelli]

* Compared to other zebra's it is tall, strips are narrower and has large ears!

* It's considered to be endangered.

* It's known as the imperial zebra.

Horse (Equus Caballus)

* An odd-toed ungulate mammal belonging to the taxonomic family Equidae

*Evolved over the past 45 to 55 million years

*Small multi-toed creature into the large, single-toed animal of today

* Feeds in areas with short grass.

*They have a strong sensitive upper lip that helps them when they eat.

* They have less strips in there legs.
