The Peuchen is from Mapuche and Chilote mythology in the areas around Chile and other parts of southern Mexico and South America.
Whenever one of it's victims looked it in the eye, the peuchen then paralyzed and drained it of it's blood. The only way to protect yourself against on of these is to find a machi, a medicine woman. Some believe that it is either related to the other cryptid, the chupacabra, or be the same animal.
Peuchen means "Common Vampire Bat" in Chile. It is often seen as giant flying snake but has the ability to transform into any animal almost immediately.
