The Hebrews left Egypt in 1250 B.C.E. They left because they were being enslaved. Moses asked the pharaoh to let his people go. The pharaoh refused and God punished Egypt with 10 plagues. Moses led them through the Red Sea when he raised his staff and the sea parted in two. The pharaoh's men were washed away after the Hebrews crossed safely.

According to the Torah, the Hebrews moved to Egypt because of famine in Canaan. This happened in 1800 B.C.E. For some time they prospered in Egypt but eventually were made slaves.
The Hebrews wandered in the desert for 40 years. They returned to Canaan in 1210 BCE. While they were wandering, Moses received the Ten Commandments from Mount Sinai. These laws became the foundation of Judaism.
They had to leave their homeland again when a Roman General named Titus, led an army against the Jews in 70 C.E. The Romans tried to kill out the Jews. The Jews revolted against the Romans, but were hopelessly outnumbered.
The Jewish Diaspora caused the Hebrews to move to different places in the world. Nebuchadnezzar burned down Solomon's temple and held captive many people in Judah. The captivity in Babylon was the start of the Jewish Diaspora in 586 BCE.
