Narrative Elements

" New Directions" by Maya Angelou

Resolution

The main conflicted is solved when Mrs. Johnson cut her a "new direction" deciding not to work for someone else, but going into business for herself. Although she wasn't a fancy cook she knew how to mix groceries. Creating opportunities for what others desired. She set up in an empty lot alternating between the cotton gin and lumber mill workers selling her delicacies between three and five cents. She made nothing out of something proving no matter your limitations with hard work and perseverance you can overcome and conquer all.

Thank you!
