STEP 5: A return to some kind of equilibrium

In the end the last two remaining characters are given the chance to leave the games with no money or to shoot the other contender and take all the money. The main character chooses to kill the other player in the game and then wins all the money! But then returns home to her ill brother to find out he has already killed him self, so the games where pointless and she could not save her brother in time. This is normally used at the end of the film to bring it back to normal and then add something unusual in to maybe suggest another film or series.

STEP 4: An attempt to repair the damage of the disruption

In the movie 'Would You Rather' has a key example of this stage of the sate of equilibrium. The main chatacer and her brother have been left in debt because their perants have died, the brother also needs medical help but they can not afford it.

The characters then try and work together to find a way to escape fro the games. But they did not succeed and their plan did not work and they where all brought back into competing in the games.

The Todorov's narrative theory follows 5 steps that stucture his idea. Here are the 5 traditonal steps:

• A state of equilibrium - all is in order.
• A disruption of the order state by an event.
• A recognition that a disruption has taken place.
• An attempt to repair the damage of the disruption.
• A return to some kind of equilibrium.

STEP 3: A recognition that a disruption has taken place.

The main character is offered a chance to win the money and receive a donor for his brother to save his life, but to able to compete she has to join the game with the other patients.

Before the games become underway the characters realise that there is something wrong as one of the other games players has been shot just because they want to leave the games. The first game was electrifying each other. It then suddenly becomes apparent that they will be torturing each other in the game.
