A peaceful force

The hunger strike !

Not all suffragettes were women!

when WW1 broke out women where needed in factory and other jobs that men use to do .This help the cause a little

but when the men came back ,women just back to their old lives being house wives.

The suffragettes were a peaceful force with women interest at heart but had to result to violence. One suffragette jumped under the kings horse to try and raise awareness but the government used it against them saying that women were insolent if they would do something like that.

Many were imprisoned for there beliefs that women should have the right to VOTE AND BE EQUAL!The first suffragettes to be imprisoned were Christabel Pankhurst (daughter of Emmeline Pankhurst) and Annie Kenney in October 1905 many more followed. Some suffragettes w ent on hunger strike(which ment they didn't eat) the government didn't want the suffragettes to die because it looks bad on them.So they ended up force feeding them.

Some men were suffragettes but very few most of them were related to a suffragette but not some believed that women were equal. Some men thought that women were equal but didn't want to show or mention it as they thought that society wold look down on them.
