- Oxymoron- "My heart with its cruel Ray"
- January is cruel to him. His calmness is being taken away. "stealing my key to true calm".
- Oxymoron- "Love, in fire and blood"
- He is in a deep sadness. He knows that she will never love him, but it is her love that keeps him alive, and the fact that she does not love him, slowly kills him inside.
Second Stanza
- Paradox-Like in stanza one, the paradox of loving, but also hating.
- Images- "I do not see you but love you blindly".
- The loving of the woman that he loves is impossible. He loves her, but she does not love him.
First Stanza
- Personification- "My heart moves from cold to fire".
- Symbol of one sided love.
- Paradox-"I do not love you except because I love you".
The meaning behind this picture is the symbolism of the coldness and hotness of his heart. He loves her, but then again at times he does not want to love her.
