For Walter his dream was to become his own boss and become rich by opening his own liquor store. His dream became deferred when he lost all his money to invest in his liquor store because he gave it to a guy named Willy to take it to Springfield. Walter later found out that he ran off with it. After that Walter knew that his dream was gone and from there he regarded the choice he makes and starts falling into a depression but soon after in the play comes out of the depression and becomes a better person to his family and shows that he is worthy of their respect.
