Michael Kors was born on August 9th, 1959 as Karl Anderson Jr. in Long Island, New York.Growing up, Kors had the opportunity to be a model. He starred in wide world campaign commercials such as toilet paper and Lucky Charms cereal. Kors is an American fashion designer with some Jewish background. His background influenced his outcome because his mother was a Jewish model whose work exposed him to fashion at a young age.

Work Experience

Kors has done many things that people would consider memorable. A big one being that he has given money to charities and to kids that need help. He has also helped expand many companies for other fashion designers. Michael David Kors has helped shape American Society today by presenting his fashion line in many different ways. Including online, in department stores, and on runway fashion shows.

Just like many other famous fashion designers and entrepreneurs, Kors had to alter many things of his along the way. In 1990, Kors' company was forces to reorganize file for bankruptcy. When he got back his feet, he had to lower the prices of his items making sure he would not have to file for bankruptcy again. I have learned that Michael Kors had dropped out of school because he loved the city more. Even though he dropped out of school, he kept pushing and believing in what/who he wanted to be. He knew what he wanted and he fought for it. This inspires me because not always does someone need grades and test scores to define them. Just being who they are can also make them very successful.

Kors has followed the HUNT in four ways.

H - He wanted to accomplish becoming a famous fashion designer. By believing in himself and pushing through his challenges he finally was able to accomplish his dream.

U - Michael Kors has gone through many roadblocks to get to where he is today. He was badly talked about for wanting to become a model and his feelings towards fashion. He also had to file for bankruptcy trying to become a more well-known designer.

N - Michael Kors went to work with French boutique Lothar's which is another well-known designer. This allowed Kors to design his clothes and eventually start his own fashion line that launched in May of 1981.

T - At first, Kors was unsure if he wanted to follow through with becoming a designer after his bankruptcy but his family and supporters helped him push through it.
