In the opining credits of the nightmare on elm street we see a red slim font with serifs and a red mist around it.
The red writing against the black back ground usually leads us to associate it with danger, which straight away helps us identify the fact that it is a horror movie. The faded red mist that is around the font makes the redness of the font stand which also makes it it foreshadow danger. The redness of the font could also be associated with blood, and the red mist behind the title looks a lot like its been splattered as it dost seem to follow a pattern, it looks very random.
