Lori and Robert were recently separated and going through a bitter child custody and support dispute. Lori was afraid of Robert hurting her and their son, her new boyfriend did what he could to keep Robert away from her.

Robert claimed that if "I can not have her [Lori] no one can". Robert recently applied for life insurance for the family and made sure that spousal coverage was a part of it (The payout for criminal homicide would have been ten thousand dollars).

ROBERT DONALD AUKER

Evidence was accumulated against suspect Robert Donald Auker.

He tried to blame the murder on his brother, but no evidence supported his accusations.

The evidence pointed Robert's specific intent to kill Lori Auker, supporting the conclusion that he was the one who committed an intentional killing for purposes of the first degree murder conviction.

Robert Donald Auker was convicted of first degree murder and sentenced to death.

Robert Donald Auker, former husband of Lori Auker, convicted of kidnap and murder.

Robert kidnapped Lori outside of the Susquehanna mall in PA near her place of work, drove to a dirt road not far from the mall, and killed her, stabbing her and leaving her to bleed to death.
