During the composer's lifetime: The United States became an independent country, and the French Revolution began.

On Jan. 27 ,1756, Johannes Chrysostomus Wolfgangus Theophilus Mozart or Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart was born in Salzburg Austria. He is one of the great composers in the classical period (1750-1820).

At the age of 3, he was picking chords out on the harpsichord, 4 playing short pieces, and 5 composing. This kid was a prodigy! At the age 6, this guy was playing for the Bavarian elector, the Austrian empress,the French and English royal families. His first piece was made in 1764 and it is called Symphony No. 1 in E-flat major, K. 16. As his life went by he composed about 1000 pieces but L. von Koechel categorized 626 of them.

Sadly, Mozart had gained an illness called rheumatic fever, which is a noncontagious acute fever marked by inflammation and pain in the joints. It chiefly affects young people and is caused by a streptococcal infection but he was able to have someone finish his Requiem which was his pupil Sussmeyer.

He created symphonies,concertos, Violin music, violin sonatas Variations for violin and piano String duos and trios,String quartets and quintets, Piano trios, chamber music, Serenades, divertimenti, Marches, Dances, Sacred music, organ music, operas, masses, Concert arias, songs and canons.

Beethoven

On December 16, 1770, Ludwig van Beethoven was born in Bon Germany.Beethovens father thought that he was a prodigy just like Mozart but that was not true so his father would hit him every time he would miss or hesitate on a note or piece of music.Bethoven took interest into music even though that was going on.

Ludwig Van Beethoven gave his first public performance at Cologne. His father announced that he was 6 years-old so all this time Beethoven assumed that he was 6 and when he saw his birth certificate, he thought it was his brother's.Prince Maximillian Franz was also aware of Beethoven's music and so he sent Beethoven to Vienna, in 1787, to meet Mozart and further his musical education but he was given a letter stating that his mother was dying so he went back to see her.He studied with Hayden

1802, however, was a year of crisis for Beethoven, with his realization that the impaired hearing he had noticed for some time was incurable and sure to worsen.But he came through with his determination strengthened and entered a new creative phase, generally called his "middle period."

People today are still trying to find out how he died and they came up with drinking fortified, eating poisonous fish or chewing on his pencil.

He composed Symphonies, Concertos, Other works for soloist and orchestra, Overtures and incidental music, Chamber music, Piano trios, Piano quartets, String trios, String quartets, String quintets, Sonatas, Variations, Bagatelles, Vocal music, Opera, Chorals,Songs , Folksongs, and more.
