Spear Nosed Snake

Species: Langaha madagascariensis

Reproduction-

Mating takes place between August and September

These snakes court eachother.

Average clutch size is 11 eggs

Once born babies weigh little more than a gram

After born they immediatly like to hang in the vegitation vertically and completely motionless.

Description- Females have a leterally compressed leaf shaped nose extension. They are grayishbrown and have irregular markings.

Males have a spear-shaped nasal extension. they are brown and have a lower lateral white stripe and yellow venter.

These snakes have unusually good eye sight.

They live in the rainforests of Madagascar

It sits very still and also has the colorings of many trees, so it can easily me mistaken for a twig or tree limb.
