Alice Bliss is about a young teenager. At the beginning of the book she is 14 and lives with her parents, and sister. However her dad is sent off to war. When her mom starts breaking down, Alice starts trying to hold her family together. She has limited contact and misses him a lot. In this coming of age story, Alice grows greatly through tragedy.
