-This seems to be a turning point in Wilson's character as he has spent most of his life being pushed around by his wife. But now all of a sudden after realizing that his wife was cheating on him he becomes a totally different person
-We also see Wilson question Michaelis about his whereabouts in order to find out if he was the one with whom his wife was cheating on him.
-This is another change in characteristic for Wilson who was not a very confrontational person before.
-Once Tom and Nick leave the scene Tom becomes very emotional as the last couple of hours have been very hard for Tom. His wife told him she doesn't love him and now his mistress has been killed, presumably by Jay, the same man who is trying to take his wife.
-At this point it has been all downhill for Tom. Everything that could go wrong has gone wrong.
-There is a strong sense of hatred towards Gatsby at this point
-This is the most vulnerable we have seen Tom throughout the book.
