By: Matthew, Zach, Brandon, Alex

  • Due to the fact that the water on the bottom is blocked from the sun, it would be colder
  • If you go to see plants, Spring is your time
  • If you are there for swimming, Summer is for you
  • Good clothing to bring include:

Our Travel Agency

  • You will ride a river cruise through the freshwater Biome
  • You can fish, swim, or enjoy learning about the freshwater biome on board.

What is a Freshwater Biome?

  • The freshwater biome is made up of lakes, streams, rivers, and ponds.
  • The water is made up a lower concentrate of salt, which allows the animals that live there to live.
  • The ponds and lakes range in many sizes and depths.
  • Many of them are connected to rivers or streams which filter out many of the algae.
  • Usually around the top of the pond or lake there would be an area which would soak up more sunlight than the rest because it is shallower.

Geographer

  • In the winter, temperatures vary from 35 F to 45 F
  • In the summer, temperatures vary from 65 F to 75 F
  • The water temperatures depend on its height
  • Because the water on the top is in closer to the sun, the sun make the top warmer

Map of the Biomes

  • A freshwater biome is is a group of still or running bodies of water which are not connected to the ocean.
  • The water in this biome is fresh and does not contain salt.

Zoologist

  • Animals in freshwater regions adapt to low salt content.
  • If they went into a high salt content example the ocean they would die.
  • Three of the animals that I had searched up were the beaver, trout, and capybara.
  • Each of these animals are very unique because they each do something to improve or environment.
