Stanley Miller, and Harold Urey Placed Water, Methane, Ammonia, and Hydrogen inside an array of sealed glass flasks, one half filled with water containing an electrode. The water was heated to induce evaporation, and sparks were fired between the electrodes to simulate lightening in the atmosphere. The water was then cooled to promote condensation, and the whole process was repeated in a continuous cycle. Within a day, the mixture had turned pink, and at the end of two days, Urey and Miller found that some of the carbon in the system was now organic matter. Sugar and 22 different amino acids were also found in the system.
According to the Electric Spark Theory, early Earth's atmosphere was laden with Hydrogen,Methane, Ammonium, and volcanic clouds. When lightening or other factors such as UV light was produced, these factors created the perfect mix to create amino acids, which produce proteins, which are what every living thing is made of.

Over millions of years, larger, more complex molecules formed. These molecules eventually came together and created more complex organisms.
Though the idea that Electricity can reanimate a dead organism has been around for centuries, made popular by Frankenstein and Galvani, the idea that life actually was Created from electricity is relativity new. Alexander Oparin was notable for his untested theories about the origin of life, and for his book The Origin of Life On Erth. Urey and Miller both looked to him for inspiration for their experiment. The Urey-Miller Experiment was conducted in 1953 at the University of Chicago, and later repeated at the University of California, San Diego.
This theory was widely accepted due to the substantial evidence Miller and Urey found.
