Rose is a very interested women, she doesnt like taking responsibility or making any bigger desions by herself because it confuses her and doesnt undertand the power of making these desions. This goes back to when her brother was drowing and she was supposed to watching over him and she wasnt. so therefore she doesnt like taking responsibility to herself for her terrible mistake she created as she was young. Towards the end of the story she finally realizes that her mother was right and takes her advice she had been giving her since along time ago. she can finally take responsibility to her self.

An-mei Hsu

lindo jong is a very strong independent women. she has alot of imagination in herself, she creates many things, a very crative person. she managed to free herself from a horrible marrige that she was forced into. her mother-in-law treated her like a slave, treated her like she was worth nothing. she thinks her thoughts are very powerful and could be somehow useful in life. lindo is a very strong women and she can overcome she wants to overcome.

An-mei Hsu views the Mother-daughter realtionships not in what they act or feel in, mainly in like thier body's physical features. Unfortunatly her mother commits suicide later on in the story in order to give her mother a better life. She is a very nice person, but strong in her character. she has 7 children one of them drowned, and she wont stop looking for him. she asks god and even started begging a dragon to bring her son back, and kit still never did bring her son back.

Suyuan woo

Jing-mei woo

jing-mei woo, the daughter of suyuan woo is the least of all the daughters in this novel to develop personally. She is always unsure of herself, from where she comes from. she is a very sensible person, and whenever someone tells her that she can oly be that she listens and wont do nothing to change it. she is the one that goes and full fills her mothers long-cherishes wish and reunites with her sisters, and finally discovers her true-self.

suyuan woo is the founder of the Joy luck club. She made this club to bring toghther a community to celebrate their happiness and joy to this club. she is always seeking for her own happiness and she is up to every thing to be the happiest as she can be even though her circumstances are terrible. At first suyuan loses her family in china but is able to come to the americas and rebuild a new family and new life even though its hard for her. suyuan woo isnt as nice as a shes seems, she has some negative, bad parts about her she is always judging her friends and even her daughter jing-mei.

Waverly Jong

waverly is a very young smart, talented women. she is very good at chess, one of her favorites and most dedicated games. she is competitive, and a loving daughter.

Lena st. clair

Ying-Ying St. clair

lena is a very wierd person, both her and her husband keep trak of their money and there always taking note of what they spend and and how much they spend. she is always allowing and expecting of what happens to others and doesnt response or resist to what happends to them. she always wants to say things first before others do. She is very attachted to her husband in other words.

Ying-ying st. clair is a mother of girl named lena. She is considered a "ghost" mainly in this novel, because no one actually paid attention to her because her husban had cheated on her. She went from a proud, free-spirited girl to a girl with a ghost inside of her with no voice and no wanting to live. Her husband has good "intentions" and changed her name and her birthdate in her immigration forms. she doesnt live life she just goes with it. she can predit the future, which could be called a super power, but it only works between her or her family and no one else just them. she is considered the moon lady because no one sees her and she forgets practicaly about everything, like invisible as she grows older.
