My favourite film genre is horror as they create
dramatic tension and keep me on the edge of my seat.

Paranormal Activity
is about a young couple
who are haunted by a supernatural presence. This is another convention which is expected within a horror film as it involves lots of jump/scare scenes.
The shining is about a boy who possess psychic abilities
and is able to see ghosts. His father influenced by a supernatural presence and tries to kill his wife and son.
These conventions are typical of the horror genre as they often involve an evil force.
Horror films are unsettling movies that strive to elicit the emotions of fear, disgust and horror from viewers.
Themes or elements often used in typical horror films include ghosts, torture, gore, werewolves, ancient curses, demons, vicious animals, vampires, cannibals, haunted houses, zombies and masked serial killers.
