Licensure requirements: No national criteria; Certification vary by states (e.g., addiction, behavioral, and/or CD counseling)

Practice settings: mental health centers, community health centers, prisons, private practice, and military, etc.

• Traditional role: to prepare drug products and fill prescriptions
• Current role: to have expert knowledge for patients on the effects of specific drugs, drug interactions, generic to brand substitutions among many other responsibilities.
