CONFUCIANISM

Confucianism is made up of four books and five classics. The sixth and final classic which was the classic of music is referred to but was lost by the Han Dynasty.

There are three different symbols for Confucianism. One being the "Confucius" symbol. Another symbol would be the chinese character for water and lastly the Yin Yang symbol which is the most popular known worldwide.

  • Confucius experienced the death of both of his parents which may have led to the importance of family and respect for elders.
  • Confucius believed education would create peace in China because the people would begin to think logically instead of constantly fighting each other. These wars that he witnessed were occurring in the Zhou Dynasty, between states.
  • In the Confucian Analects it is written "He who learns but does not think is lost, He who thinks but does not learn is in great danger" which was specifically said by Confucius.
