1. We answered at all questions, that we formed at the beginning of presentation:

  • Muhammad was the initiator of migration.
  • Muslims had to immigrate because of persecution and harassment.
  • They decided to place in Yathrib.
  • This event had happened in 622 year.
  • You have just seen consequences of the "Hijrah"

2. The "Hijra" migration is very important for Muslims, because after that they have found their city, given rise to the calendar and still live in this beautiful city - Medina.

Disadvantages:

  • Many Muslims have lost their relatives
  • Their houses and thing was taken by Quraisheets

Story...

The story of Hijrah begins in 622 year, when Muhammad's tribe "Quraish" decided to kill him. Followings of Muhammad didn't want to endanger their prophet and them selves and immigrate to Yathrib (a little town in 320 km north of Mecca). But Muhammad did not went with them, he waited until all the muslims will leave Mecca and in one night he secretly flees to the cave with his friend Abu Bakr. After many days, his followers gladly meet their prophet and there comes a temporary calm in the Muslim era.

What is "Hijrah"?

The "Hijra" is the migration or journey of the Islamic prophet Muhammad and his followers from Mecca to Medina in June 622. There were about 150-200 people, who leave Mecca.

Monday - 21 June 622(1 Rabi' I 1 year)

During 620 - 622 years Muslims suffered oppression and persecutions by the people of Mecca (tribe "Quraish").

First visit to Medina for Friday prayers.

Muslims build their first mosque.

Muhammad left the environs of Mecca. He traveled north to the region of Yathrib.
