Birth and Childhood

Eva was born on May 21, 1932 in Leewarden, Holland. Her parents are Hartog and Rosette Beem. Her brothers name is Abraham Beem, he was 5 years old. Her farther worked as a high school teacher.

Holocaust Story

I admire her Because..

When Eva was 8 years old the germans invaded Holland in May 1940. Her Family thought it was right to for her and her brother to go into hiding as non-jews in a rural village called Erenelo. They stayed with a christan family who was willling to risk there lifes to help them. Eva and her brother had to be givin a new name and identity. She was called Linni De Witt. She went to school like everyone else.

I admire Eva Beem because she is a strong girl. She had to move away from her family to a family, she didnt know and pertend to be someone she wasnt. She was probally scared every secound of her life that the germans would come for her and her brother. She had to tell her brother "that everything was going to be okay" when she knew it wasnt going to be. I think it is important to celebrate her death because of how brave she was during this harsh time.

Auschwitz Death Camp

Eva and her brother were captured after four years in hiding. Eva was 13 and her brother was 10. They were brang to Auschwitz death camp in Poland. When they arrived at the death camp they were put into a gas chamber. The family they were staying with didn't try to help them because they were worried they would be killed for helping Eva and her Brother.
