The IB was founded in 1968 in Geneva, Switzerland as part of a educational initiative to promote global peace and understanding.
The IB Diploma is widely respected by universities around the world. Some universities even offer college credit to reward the IB Diploma.
Students must choose 6 subjects to complete (1 each from groups 1-5 and either 1 from group 6 or another from groups 2, 3, or 4) + Core subject requirements.
