Leon was the son of Gaberil and Marie. He is mistaken for the first belmont because he obtained a whip forged with alcemy called the vampire killer. He friend, lost faith in god so he plotted against god, becoming Dracula II.

Christopher Belmont
The First Belmonts were Marie and Gaberil Belmont. Gaberil defeated the lord of shadows, but he ended up becoming Dracul (Dracula), while Marie died shortly after child birth.
Son of Christopher Belmont, Trevor Belmont it the 2nd most known Belmont in the family. Alas, while fighting Gaberil/Dracula, he was given vampire blood, turning him into Alucard II. The first Alucard is the son of Dracula II and Lisa.
Christopher Belmont is barely known, but he's the first belmont to defeat Dracula.
