Climate Change: The Pros and Cons

Possible explanations for major climate changes include variations in the position of Earth relative to the sun, changes in the Suns energy output, major volcanic eruptions, the movement of continents, and human activity.

Peoples Choice

Pros

Many people have differing opinions and beliefs on the effects of climate change on our environment and our lives. This includes the people who do not understand the science of climate change which makes them not believe. This is while others know the concept but have different perspectives on how climate change works. A great number of people are unsure about the impacts- which is actually where much greater uncertainty exits among scientists said by Wouter Poortinga and his colleagues.

  • The pros of climate change can deal with economics, financing, etc. and based kn how climate change has effected the people, you can predict where will be in the future. For example, Richard Tol a professor from Richard University has calculated that the improvements have gone from 1.4% rising to 1.5% by 2025 based on various of studies on this matter.
  • Meaning that less people can die from starvation and more people can survive. This is because climate change can also cause major droughts which can mess up an economies food supply.
  • even though climate change has effected the atmosphere by making the air suitable for us to live from greenhouse effect rising, carbon dioxide is more significant. This allows plats to make carbohydrates which keeps the food cylce which benefits everyone.
  • This also brings loss of sea ice which benefits polar bears in many ways such as with finding food to live so ultimately this helps the people get what they want but animals and plants too.

Cons

Believe it, or not

More than one quarter of Americans are climate change skeptics, according to a new report released by the Public Religion Research Institute. The skeptic's most common response was that they had not noticed a change in the the weather around them, and that the weather around them was actually getting colder. There was a survey based on telephone interviews conducted among a random sample of 3,022 Americans. 33% say weather has not changed, 22% either did not care, or had no reason to support their claim, 18% say temperature varies naturally, 12% believe that there is an insufficient amount of scientific evidence, and 5% believe news reports and research are false. On the other hand, those who believe in climate change think that it is based on human activities and global warming. Global warming is causing glaciers to melt which is creating sea levels to rise drastically. This is causing animal life, such as polar bears, in those areas to decrease in population. Factories also release gases into the air which increases the temperature.

  • Burning fossil fuels produces carbon dioxide (CO2), a greenhouse gas that absorbs heat from the sun, causing the temperature of the atmosphere to increase.
  • This causes glaciers to melt all across the world which raises the sea level above normal
  • Climate change could weaken the Atlantic Thermohaline Circulation, partially offsetting warming in both Europe and eastern Northern America, or in an extreme case cause a significant cooling.
