Course Aims
Missing the Exam
GPA will be adjusted to reflect 1.0 weight instead of 2.0 weight. (Viable reason for missing exam either illness or bereavement) $95.00
- TWO PAPERS - Each equally weighted 50% Problem Solving
50% Critical Thinking
- Paper 1: One hour and thirty min. (30 multiple choice questions - a question w/four options, test skills, calculators are allowed). (May 29th)
- Paper 2: One hour and forty-five min. (Three structured answer questions - Ques. 1 student evaluates evidence. Ques. 2 student uses reasoning in a scientific context).
- Ques. 3 requires the student to evaluate and present an argument. (May 10th)
- To give students a transferable set of skills of solving problems, critical thinking and reasoning.
- To encourage students to apply these skills to realistic scenarios.
- To develop students abilities to understand and engage confidentially in argument and reasoning.
OBJECTIVES

Problem Solving

Processing data, searching for solutions, suggesting hypotheses for variations, using spaital reasoning
Critical Thinking
(18 weeks)
Recognizing reasoned arguments, Identifying conclusions, Drawing conclusions, Recognizing flaws in reasoning, analyzing and evaluating evidence and argument
