Genre and Theme

Why you should read it

The genre is science fiction. In the first book, it describes Lina wanting to go to the new city, this place that possible exist out of Ember. In The People of Sparks, the new city is Sparks.

The overall theme is nonviolence. Here is a little conversation Lina has with a friend about a war that could have been avoided.

" You'd do something good," said Maddy." Or at least you'd keep yourself from doing something bad."

" But how could you?" said Lina. " When people have been mean to you, why would you want to be good to them?"

" You wouldn't want to," Maddy said. " That's what makes it hard. You do it anyway. Being good is hard. Much harder than being bad."

- Did you like the first book?

- Did you want to find out if Ember made it to the new city?

- Do you like the unpredictable?

These are all reasons why you should stop being a couch potato and GET THE BOOK!
