The Grand Canyon

The Grand Canyon is 277 miles long and 18 miles wide. It also took 3-6 million years to form. The Grand Canyon was formed by the Colorado River which flows west at average speed 4 miles per hour.

The Salton Sea

Salton Sea is known to be around 376.1 square miles long and 34.8 miles wide. In 1905, water from the Colorado River was diverted through the Alamo Canal to irrigate farmlands in the Imperial Valley. But huge amounts of rain and snow in the mountains sent a flood in Colorado.

The Great Salt Lake

The Great Salt Lake, located in the northern part of the U.S. state of Utah, is the largest salt water lake in the Western Hemisphere, and the fourth-largest terminal lake in the world.
