Henri Rousseau

Rousseau was a French self taught painter.

A jungle is an area of land in the tropics overgrown with plants and animals

Henri never went to the jungle, but painted many jungle scenes

What do you see in this

jungle painting?

At times, Rousseau and his artwork, were

made fun of. Even today some art critics

say his art is nice to look at but

that it is not serious art.
