Who I am

Rate your self-esteem

I don't think I know exactly who I am but I don't think I will know for a while, I still have a lot to work on with myself and this careers class wasn't just about finding career and if there is one thing I will remember about this class is there are a lot of surveys but also there is a lot more to me than I thought and knowing all of it will help me to find the right career for me so hopefully I will remember all of the things I learned and I can use them in the future.

Jobs I would be well suited for

With the self-esteem quiz it was based on points, the more points you get the higher your self-esteem and vice-versa. I got 55 points so I am in the middle, I am a 15 year old girl living in the 21st century, I am not going to have the 100 self-esteem points because I am still learning but I think 55 is a great number to have, of coarse I have to build on it but I love myself at times do I not, of coarse, but I know I can do great things with my life so I will use this survey as a reminder to have high self-esteem because it really makes you believe in your self and if you believe in yourself then you can do whatever you want in life and that is a crucial thing to know in this class but without this class I would never have known it.

The jobs I think I would be most suited for would be:

Criminologist

Psychologist

Counselor

Biologist

Neuropsycologist

Ethologist

A writer

Interest Sorter

Employability Skills

When I did the interest sorter survey I found out in my results that I am a information person. I got 7 out of the 8 in the category a "hands on person being my least interested category with only 2 out of the 8. Being an information person I enjoy expressing myself through writing, and that makes sense because I have a journal that I use frequently also I enjoy reading. I need to know everything before I come to a conclusion and love finding out new facts and information that I have never known before. The second highest was being a " people person" with 6 out of 8 and that's the more social side of me, I don't like big crowds but I do enjoy people and working with them because seeing things in a new perspective is always interesting.

One of the last surveys and topics we looked at was the topic of employability skills. I had no clue what I would be when I took this, it turns out that my highest score is academic skills. I am a valued employer and have skills and talents that I have gained, I am organized and never should stop learning the more I know the better. The one skill I have to improve on is my teamwork skills and including everyone's ideas and working as a team because sometimes 2 heads are better than one, and that's something I will definitely work on.

Work Values Self Assessment

Hollands General Occupational theme

Right/Left Brain

The work values survey is a different survey than we have done before because it really gets into things in the future you'll need and for me it is security. I don't like to feel insecure and unpredictable because I like to be prepared for anything so if something comes in unexpectedly it will mess up my whole routine which I won't like and have to change. The lowest value I got was financial reward. If I am making good money and enjoy what I do then there is no need for me to go for something I don't overly need. This really helped me set what to strive for in my life for the future.

For this unit we learned even more about ourselves and where our futures are headed. After the survey we did here it showed me that I was Investigative and Social. Of coarse all of the different surveys won't exactly match me and will always be in a different perspective, but I found I am investigative because I am a very curious person and like to know what is going on around me at all times, I analyze what's going around me and am very observant of things around me. I like to be precise and have all the facts right, I try to think abstractly and find analyzing data or research to find something unknown known interesting. I most time like to work independently because it helps me concentrate but others ideas are good too. Even though I am not a big fan of huge crowds I like people and associate with them easily, I’m friendly, helpful, understanding and insightful, I cooperate with everyone no matter who they are, I love to help people with their problems, also I am quite good at reading people and their emotions. This survey helped me go a little deeper in my likes and dislikes, also my strengths and weaknesses.

The brain is a very complex part of our body. For me I am more left side than right but I have a couple aspects of the right which is the part about literature because I love to read and am a visual learner. After the surveys and note we took on both sides of the brain I chose left over right because I love to argue and prove points, I am very observant and notice little things. Lists like I've stated before are a huge deal along with schedules. I also like movies and books that have brain teasers in them which you figure out everything at the end like a puzzle. It is okay to have different characteristics for this because we are all unique and this is just another example why.

Learning Style

Introduction

Myers-Briggs Type Indicator

Visual is my learning style and it makes a lot sense. I love to read and I have read a lot of books in my 15 years of living. I also like to write, not as much as I love to read but it's second best. I love to take detailed notes and I found out that I am not a auditory learner because I get distracted easily and don't remember how to do things by listening to them so I actually have to watch someone demonstrate an example. Knowing this helps me academic wise for my studying habits and what I need to do in order to understand something.

Throughout these past weeks in careers class I have learned a lot, but no just about jobs. I have learned a great deal about myself and who I am as a person. Not only does this help me in finding a career it helps give me confidence in my own skin and to connect with myself. Here is a map and my journey to try to show just who I am.

My personality test that include the 4 letters is ISTJ which are these 4 words- introvert, I get lost in my own thoughts a lot and like to be by myself sometimes. Sensor which is where I pay attention to physical reality, what I see, hear, touch, taste and smell, I am realistic so I don't focus on daydreams or get lost in them. I notice facts and I remember details that are important to me. I like to see the practical use of things and learn best when I see how to use what I'm learning. After that I am a thinker, I know there is an answer for everything and all what happens, I need to see both sides of the things I am making a choice on to choose anything. I value pros and cons and always look at the logical way in deciding things. Last but not least I am a judger, I prefer a planned or orderly way of life, I like to have things settled and organized because it makes me feel more comfortable when decisions are made, and I like to bring life under control as much as possible. I like things to be balanced and fair when I judge things. Also to-do lists are a big part of my life, knowing this about my personality even if it's a little bit of information makes me feel more confident about myself and my way of life.

Colours

Personality Traits

My colour turned out to be green. As the colour green I am stable and well balanced or striving for balance and I can at times become unsettled and anxious. I am down to earth and kind, generous and compassionate. I don't like when people fight and always tend to others needs before mine. I can learn things quickly and excel in the things that interest me but get bored easily. I have learned from my colour more characteristics that I have, like how I get along with everyone and like to be accepted and have people proud in me. I do what is right and loyal, I follow the rules but don't like being told what to do other wise. I am fairly sociable but preferring to be alone at points. I learned I can be too self-effacing, modest and patient and may appear to be innocent and naïve but I am are actually quite wise. I read others well, but often keep it to myself. I never knew about the colours of personality before and knowing all these thins allow me to relate to myself and prepare myself for the consequences my flaws can open me to but also enjoy the good things about myself.

This survey was a different one but the results I got were clear, I am the trait of affiliation which means I do things to belong, which makes sense because it is hard to find a place in society now a days but I have to learn to move on from that and be myself. The trait that isn't like me at all is exhibitation which means I have no desire to attract attention on myself and it is totally true, I don't enjoy unneeded attention, I never have so when I need to publicly speak or something and everyone is looking at me I get anxious and don't like to do it.
