Get Organised!

The Physical Education AS course is made up of 50% exam work and 50% coursework.

This means you have to be extremely organised right from the start.

Things to consider;

1. Where will I work at home? Is there a quiet space I can go to work?

2. Have I got all the equipment I will need; pens, pencils, note pad etc.

3. How will I organised my homework timetable (there will be 1 hour per lesson)?

Stepping Stone 1

Try to improve your knowledge of Musculo-Skeletal Anatomy (in other words, muscles and bones).

You will need to be able to name and locate the following muscles and bones:

Use the following website games and tasks to have fun whilst you are learning.

Work with a friend through the following little games.

Round 1

Point to a joint of the body. Ask your friend to;

1. Name the joint.

2. Identify the joint type.

3. Describe the movements possible at that joint.

If your partner can answer all the questions then it is their turn to point to a joint and ask you the questions.

Round 2

One person think of a sports skill and and then a "freeze frame" position of this skill. It could be any skill from sport such as a tennis serve, shot in football, netball pass.

The other person has to identify all the joints (name & type) that have moved and label the type of movement eg Knee, hinge, flexion.
