Introduction

After-Europeans

Food

Today im going to be talking to you about the Huron-Wendat, one of the first nation groups in Ontario. Ill be talking about before the europeans came and after the europeans came and ill be talking about they're differences.

When the Europeans came, they introduced money to the huron-wendat people. The Europeans usually traded money to buy the Huron-Wendat items. The huron people introduced tobacco to the Europeans, the Europeans wanted that new plant. So they traded. The huron people gave the Europeans the tobacco and the Europeans gave them money, wheat flour for baking, cloths for clothes, and rifles for hunting. This is when the Huron-Wendat women started making the wheat flour for bread.

Before Europeans

Clothes

The Huron People used animal fur and plants for clothes, they found all of this in they're environment. They took the sinew from a deer and used it for thread. The Huron made needles from the shinbone of the deer. In cold weather men wore deerskin, the women made the shirts for the men. The men wore deerskin shirts with long fringes on the bottom. The women wore deerskin dresses and moccasins

First, ill be talking about what the Huron-Hendat's do to grow they're crops and hunt for meat and animal fur. The huron-wendats grew three crops, beans, squash, and corn. They're main crop was corn. The men used bow and arrows, blowguns and snares to hunt. The men would hunt for bears, deer, beavers and rabbits, They also use handwoven to catch ducks and geese.

Trade

After European Trade

The Huron people would make a relationship with other members of the tribe by trading. They would trade crops, tools, weapons, traps and their transportation's. Sometimes the Huron will trade with some other first nation groups, some of them would go into war with them.

When the Europeans came, the first thing they loved about the Huron-Wendat Clothing was the quality. They loved it much better then their clothes, so the Europeans shipped bunch of they're valuable resources from a boat and traded, the Europeans traded iron tools and weapons for they're clothing. The Huron-Wendat Clothing was made from beaver fur, the Europeans wanted more of the beaver fur but the Huron-Wendat wouldn't like them kill more beaver for they're fur only.
