  • a pioneer in ceramic art in Iraq, who instilled in him the love of art and appreciation of beauty in all forms.
  • Since he was seven years old, Delair has spent most of his time in his father's ceramic studio where he developed a great passion for clay.
  • Mohammed Al-Shammarey is a self-taught artist. He is a member of the UNESCO International Association for Plastic Arts (AIAP), the Iraqi Artist Association, and the Iraqi Society of Plastic Artists. His work has been exhibited in the Middle East, North Africa, and Europe, including the 9th Cairo International Biennale, 2003–2004; the Frankfurt International Book Fair, 2004 and 2005; and Imagining the Book International Biennial, Alexandria Library, Egypt, 2005.

Delair Shaker

  • Born in 1971
  • He was born in Baghaad and lives in Iraq.
  • He went to art school for ceramics where he developed a great passion for clay.
  • He also designed and produced a number of ceramic murals and carried out a project representing sea life at the Aqaba Resort in Jordan in 2002.
  • Delair moved to Phoenix, Arizona, where he currently resides, to continue his art journey where he started a whole new art experience seeking originality, vitality, and innovation.
