The Pan Africanism and Indian Congress movement were both working toward independence of its people and uniting the people. Both were being dominated by Europeans at the time. Africa was more difficult to unite due to the diverse societies and borders made by Europeans. Its path to independence occurred in northern and southern Africa. India was more successful and gained independence with a single movement, led by Gandhi.
