Perpendicular Line

Two lines are considered perpendicular when the slopes are reciprocals of one another.

Example: 2/3 and -3/2

Slope intercept form

Y=mx+b

Interpret and predict

the effects of changing slope

in applied situations

Example 2

Find the slope and the y-intercept

Example 1

1.)Slope=4/5

y-intercept=9

2.) Slope=6

y-intercept=8

3.) Slope= 890

y-intercept=496

Write the slope intercept form of each equation

Answer

Slope=1

Y-intercept= -1

Slope intercept form: Y= 1x-1
