Portrait of an INFJ Student
While still living in the here and now, the Introverted iNtuition part of INFJs let them see the world with hidden psychological meaning and value. Through the eyes of an INFJ, the world is clear because of perception of the unconscious mind.
Plato was a Greek philosopher who wrote 36 dialogues of philosophy whiched helped found Western Philosophy for aspects of logic, ethics, and rhetoric.
Sigmund Freud was a neurologist who became the founding father of psychoanalysis. He used his intellectual thought to develop theories of the unconscious mind and the meaning behind why people do what they do.
As a student, the use of iNtuition is crucial to understanding why. For instance, if I am performing a monologue in theatre, I need to have a clear perception of the character so I know the reason why they do things.
Extraverted Feeling
With this trait, INFJs are able to see a variety of opinions and perspectives. This often lets the INFJ see appropriate relationships with people that can be deemed very trustworthy.
As a student, having the trait of extraverted feeling allows me to make conscious decisions and take into consideration ALL the aspects of anything I'm doing, whether it be a historical war between two opposing forces, a quote I'm studying in English, or a play I'm reading in Theatre. By taking into consideration everything I can, I'm able to not only observe and study things happening, but see WHY they are happening.
With a trait like extraverted feeling, an INFJ might make a talented counselor.
Introverted Thinking
When INFJs think about a subject, they give that subject their full attention. This is call Introverted Thinking. This tends to confuse other thinkers, however it works great for the INFJ, because he/she can fully focus on the subject and tune out the world.
This trait of INFJ helps me as a student because it lets me tune out all other subjects so I can focus on one. It really works if I let it, however it can also be a bad thing because I sometimes put a lot of effort into one subject, but slack when it comes to others.
Listening to music helps me focus when I want to work.
Extraverted Sensing allows the INFJ to see the world both internally and externally, so they are able to look at a person's unconscious decisions while simultaneously viewing the person's conscious decisions in the open world. This tactic can be viewed as a blessing and a curse, since the trait can make or break the INFJ. This trait tends to make the INFJ more vulnerable because they may use their introverted thinking to strongly focus on the intuitive aspect, while losing touch with reality.
As a student, the trait of extraverted sensing really helps me when I'm trying to dig deep into the real reason why a particular author or artist makes certain decisions with their art form. For instance, if I read a play, and then research the playwright's physical appearance, personal and public relationships, and personal notes or entries, then I will be able to fully understand the reasoning for the playwright's artistic directions and decisions.
INFJ's tend to be "doers", and they feel a responsibility to the activities they do. I show dogs, and I've been doing this since I was 9. The dog show world taught me early on about the differing personalities of people in general and a unique hobby.
My zodiac sign is a Leo! Even though I think some of the zodiac and sun sign facts are made up and false, I still find it fun to research my sign and compare myself to the Leo facts!
How this is related to INFJ
INFJs choose their close friends with care, and they don't give out too much personal information on the fly. They are well aware of who is to be trusted because they understand the psychological aspects of people, which lets them choose great long term friends. They are also true introverts, meaning that while that still have a strong interest in humanity as a whole, they find their lives are fulfilled with a small amount of close, intimate relationships with friends, family, etc.
