Discovery of fire

cites

The wheel

Videos

Of course there was already fire so they didn't really discover it, but they did learn to control it. They found out they could use fire to cook their food. The techniques they used to start the fires are wood friction, and fire piston.

The Wheel was first used for turning pottery. The wheel by its self is not a machine but when you add an axle, it becomes one of the six simple machines, known as the wheel and axle. The wheels where made out of stone and were shaped.

before the neolithic age people live a more nomadic lifestyle, which meant they never really settled down. With all the discoveries and inventions people started to make permanent homes. Then they started to grow crops which made new discoveries in agriculture. All the new inventions helped lead to an increased surplus in food.

And Technology Advancements

The loom

The reason the loom was created is because people needed something that would make cloth. They could then make clothing to protect them from the harsh weathers and climates around the world.

The oven

The oven was invented to cook food more efficiently. People made ovens out of hardened clay. First, they harvested clay from a natural deposit. Then they molded the clay into the intended shape, and heated it up, making the clay hard.

The Pot

The Neolithic Age

The Millstone

The neolithic age, also know as the stone age, was the final stage of development in 9000 B.C.E to 3000 B.C.E. With the tools and inventions in the neolithic age, life was much easier for everyone. Also some of the inventions are still used today like the pot or the oven.

The pot helped with many things like carrying liquids, cooking, and collecting milk from livestock. To make the pot they would first heat up clay. They then would shape it on a pottery wheel which was also a new invention to them.

The millstone grinds grains, making tiny spices like the salt and pepper we see today.
