Title: Pete Rose: My Story

Author Pete Rose and Roger Kahn

Genre: Biography

The two main themes are play hard and don't gamble. Throughout the entire book, Pete always stressed to play as hard as you can because you never know when it could end. Not to gamble is demonstrated when Pete is banned for life from the game he loved...Baseball. Pete said during the trials "I will tell my side of the story in the near future"

The protagonist is Pete Rose. Pete is daring, gutsy, and hard going. "the first time Meer saw Rose run to first base, Pete was running like hell. The only gambling Pete could do down in Florida was to bet on dogs, I went 3 Saturdays in 2 months.

The most exciting part of the book was Pete's playing career. It was incredible to go through each season and read about what he accomplished. Rose played 24 amazing seasons in which he played for 3 teams. The Philadelphia Phillies, Cincinnati Reds, and Montreal Expos. He also has a MLB record with 4256 career base hits.
