* The rules are the same between Spain and the U.S. because they are international, but there are new rules that the ISF (International Softball Federation) created for housekeeping.

Positions in Spain are the same as the U.S.

2. A coach or manager may only make a dead ball appeal after stepping onto the playing field.

3. Ineligible Replacement Player

*Example: So if Player A is hurt and bleeding the coach of Player A can't put in another player that is not in the game or a starting player. Because they can't be substituted twice for a replacement player.

*Example: The coach of Team A says that a player from Team B is batting out of order. The coach from Team A must then tell the umpire by walking out onto the field and confront the umpire before the pitch is thrown.

*No exposed jewelry for safety if saw by the umpire it may be asked to be covered or taken off. Medical bands may be asked to be taped to the body so it is still visible to read.

1. Temporary Runner

*This a player who may run for a catcher of record for half of the inning, and who is on base with 2 outs. This is optional for the offensive coach.

*The pitchers glove may be any combination of colors as long as it is not the color of the softball or the lacing on the softball. Gloves worn by any other player can be any combination of colors. If it is worn by the pitcher the umpire may ask the player to remove it if it is too distracting.
