Nazis Fail To Win A Majority In Reichstag Election

Even though the state of emeergency delcared in Feburary 1933 the Nazis failed to win the government majority in parliament elctions. The Nazis only won about 45% of voters. But then later in March 1933, Hitler introduces a bill that would give his government the power to decree laws without subbmitting them to a vote in German parliament. Later on the bill was passed.

The Reichstag Votes Legislative Power To Hitler

After the Nazis failure to win majority in parliamnet Hitler introduces a bill that would give him legislative authority. The Nazis, the Conservitives and the Cathlic Center support this this so-called "Enabling Act", which would grant him power in the government to decree laws without a vote for a 4 year period. The bill eventually passed. Hitler soon after outlawed other political goverenments.

Summary

On January 30, 1993 Adolf Hitler was appointed as Chancellor of Germany, bringing an end to German democracy. Hitler wanted to create a "Volk" community where all people would be behind Hitler. By mid July 1993 the Nazi party was the only political party permitted in Germany. The Reischstag became a rubber stamp for Hitler's dictatorship by incresing his authority over state using Nazi memebers as the government.

Reichstag Buig Destryoed By Fire

A purge of Storm Trooper leadership and other opponets of Adolf Hitler's regime takes place. This purge now known as the "Night of the Long Kinves". More than 80n SA leaders were arrested and shot without trial. Hitler overthrows the SA and then removes Ernst Roehm which wins Hitler greater support.

Adolf Hitler gained power in Germany after the Richstag building in Berlin was burned down. Adolf Hitler used this incident to assume extraordinary powers in Germany. Hitler got got the presedent Paul von Hindenburg to delcare a state of emergency.

August 2, 1934

President Von Hinderburg Dies At Age Of 87

German president Von Hindenburg dies at age 87. After he dies, Hitler takes over the powers of precidency. The army sweares an oath to personal loyalty to Hitler. Hitlers dictatorship now rests on his position as president, chanellor and fueherer.
