Large Animal Vet Techs are a lot like Small Animal Vet Techs. Giving vaccinations, keeping an eye on any wounds, taking orders from the doctor, ect.. All of this is done while under supervision of a certified doctor.
I'm studying this career because I have been raised around large animals all my life and have loved working with them. Being raised around it, i have developed skills from my dad, which will help me proceed in this career. I also like going to different farms instead of sitting at a desk.
People need to be pretty experienced in this career. They will need an associates degree in veterinary technology. They will also need a state license. I am transfering from a community college.

I am currently and have been taking agriculture classes to get in the career. Animal Science has helped prepare me. You need at least an associates degree in order to be applicable. Voluntary and internships are needed.

Some benefits I would get from this job is you learn more everyday, the more you work, the more skills you get. You can also become close to the animals. There are also hazards, many animals may act up and you can get injured.
I would always be interested in making this my career objective. I have been wanting to do this all my life and i'm not planning for that to change.
