Pets

The type of pets they had

are mostly the same as they

are today, however they are

different for each gender.

Men typically chose pets

to reflect characters they

wanted others to see, like

strenght and loyalty, so they

mostly chose horses, hunting

hounds, hawks, etc.

Woman usually chose pets for companions and owned small dogs, cats, monkeys, birds, squirrels, ferrets, rabbits, etc.

Animals in the Renaissance

The renaissance age was known for its breakthroughs in art, music, and creativity.

People ventured from the control of the church and the affect of that made a huge impact on tecniques, subjects, etc.

Meanings

Bird: represented sacrifice/ressurrection

Serpants/Lizards: represented evil or mystierious

Ape: sinful thoughts

Dogs: companionship, faithfulness

Rabbits: cycles of the moon, fertility, purity

Ox: strength, power, humility

Animals were often used in art to symbolize certain things. What do you think the following animals represent?

Traveling was much more limited during this time. Usually, people only traveled to trade, buy, and sell between markets.

Most people traveled by walking, however horses and packmules were popular animals that you could use to get around on.
