What does the Western Painted Turtle Eat?

The Painted Turtle Lives on Vancouver Island and in the Gulf Islands.

It is an extremely endangered species and if we do nothing about it, it will surely become extinct.

The Western Painted Turtle eats worms, fish, insects, water lettuce, water hyacinth and duckweed.

Food Chain

The western painted turtle is an omnivore which means it eats plants and meat

Predators

Being an endangered species, the Painted turtle has lots of species eating them, and their eggs such as;

parts of the western painted turtle ecosystem

- Raccoons

- Northern River Otters

- American Minks

- Red Foxes

abiotic parts: soil, sun, air, fresh warm water (ponds, lakes), mud, rocks,

biotic parts: racoons, water bugs, snapping turtle and other animals in the habitat.
