Back when the Mayans were alive houses were rectangular, the also didn't have any windows. the house had rounded corners and they were facing east. they usually had two rooms, one of the rooms [ the main single room ] was converted into a dormitory. also the rooms were made out of straw.The architecture in Mayan times was mostly based on building cities characters :sed-temples, stepped pyramids, ball courts, observatories, palace complexes also roads and large plazas .
The Mayans were first reported from 200-900 AD but the Tikal population was 100,000 by 800 AD. Abandoned cities started in 800 AD. It is believed that millions of Mayans populated South America before Spanish explorers arrived here. Each large city here had more than 100,000 inhabitants.
